Medical Education Empowered By Theatre/MEET
MEET é organizada, até então, em quatro frentes de ação:

Aulas de Teatro/ Theater Classes
Trata-se de uma atividade prática voltada à formação inicial e/ou continuada de profissionais de saúde em que aulas de teatro são oferecidas aos/às participantes.
This is a practical activity aimed at the initial and/or continuing education of health professionals in which theater classes are offered to participants. At the Universidade Estadual de Campinas/UNICAMP, MEET is a mandatory subject in the first year of the medical course.
O curso é estruturado em cinco aulas de quatro horas de duração. Cada dia, trabalha-se um tema em forma de pergunta:
1) "como iniciar uma conversa?"
2) "como deixar alguém confortável?"
3) "como fazer um plano coletivo?"
4) "como lidar com conflitos?"
5) "como é o impacto de se sentir/estar doente?"
The course is structured in five four-hour classes. Each day, a different topic presented as a question:
How to start a conversation?
How to make someone comfortable?
How to make a collective plan?
How to deal with a conflict?
What is the impact of feeling/being ill?
Simulação de Consultas/ Consultation Simulation
Essa metodologia é bem conhecida na formação médica, mas em nossa abordagem os(as) artistas da cena são considerados(as) professores(as) de medicina, pois participam em condição de igualdade nas ações de ensino, compartilhando suas impressões e oferecendo seus conhecimentos, sobretudo no tocante à comunicação.
This methodology is well known in medical training, but in our approach, performing artists are considered medical teachers, as they participate on equal terms in teaching activities, sharing their impressions and offering their knowledge, especially with regard to communication.
O(A) artista da cena como paciente simulado/a tem uma dupla função: de um lado, deve se apresentar como personagem (paciente) o mais realista possível, de outro lado, deve prestar atenção aos aspectos didáticos da ação para poder ajudar o/a estudante a ter êxito na sua consulta médica simulada.
The artist of the scene as a simulated patient has a dual role: on the one hand, he/she must present himself/herself as a character (patient) as realistically as possible, on the other hand, he/she must pay attention to the didactic aspects of the action in order to help the student to be successful in his/her simulated medical consultation.
Pacientes simulados(as) são utilizados(as) em diferentes momentos ao longo dos cursos de formação e igualmente nos exames finais como o OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) ou numa tradução direta, Exame Clínico Objetivo Estruturado.
Simulated patients are used at different times throughout the training courses and also in final exams such as the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination).
Trata-se de um trabalho em que artistas da cena com formação específica, representam pacientes com suas respectivas queixas e doenças para que os(as) estudantes possam realizar uma consulta e chegar a um diagnóstico.This is a work in which stage artists with specific training represent patients with their respective complaints and illnesses so that students can carry out a consultation and reach a diagnosis.
Encenação/
Staging
Trata-se de colocar os/as estudantes e os/as profissionais de saúde em ação no espaço cênico.
Esta frente representa a mais recente experimentação do grupo de pesquisa e está ligada aos aspectos estéticos, sensíveis e artísticos em si.
The aim is to put students and health professionals into action on the stage. This front represents the most recent experimentation of the research group and is linked to the aesthetic, sensitive and artistic aspects themselves.
Palhaçaria/
Clowning
Nesta frente da MEET, a palhaçaria é voltada aos(às) profissionais de saúde, não aos(às) pacientes, como é a maioria dos projetos de palhaçaria hospitalar.
O objetivo da MEET-palhaçaria é levar o riso para o ambiente de trabalho e/ou de formação em saúde, para fazer rir, aliviando tensões presentes no ambiente de trabalho, mas, principalmente, para colocar na roda temas nevrálgicos que precisam ser discutidos.
In this MEET front, clowning is aimed at healthcare professionals, not patients, as is the case with most hospital clowning projects.
The objective of MEET-clowning is to bring laughter to the workplace and/or health training environment, to make people laugh, relieving tensions present in the workplace, but, mainly, to bring to the table sensitive topics that need to be discussed.
Por meio da presença da personagem cômica, quebra-se o gelo, retiram-se os escudos e abre-se caminho para abordar temas sensíveis vividos no ambiente hospitalar e/ou universitário, visando a melhoria das relações, sejam verticais (profissional de saúde -paciente; chefia-funcionário(a); docente-estudante), sejam horizontais (entre colegas de sala, de departamento, profissionais do mesmo setor, dentre outras).

The objective of MEET-clowning is to bring laughter to the workplace and/or health training environment, to make people laugh, relieving tensions present in the workplace, but, mainly, to bring to the table sensitive topics that need to be discussed.
Through the presence of the comic character, the ice is broken, shields are removed and the way is opened to address sensitive issues experienced in the hospital and/or university environment, aiming to improve relationships, whether vertical (health professional - patient; boss - employee; teacher - student) or horizontal (between classmates, department colleagues, professionals in the same sector, among others).
